Ten
kms from Tarragona and you reach Salou which is probably one
of the most important and well know resorts on the Costa Dorada.
It has grown more recently with the arrival of Universal's Port
Aventura, undoubtedly one of the most exciting theme parks in
Europe. The Port Aventura waterpark opened recently along with
many new hotels to accommodate the visitors. A modern, well
maintained and busy resort with much to offer if you want to
have a choice of activities close by. There is also a quieter
side to Salou and a very popular choice of destination all year
round.

A
busy resort in the summer with good beaches, golf at the Bonmont
Terres Noves Golf Club, horseriding and hiking. Some excellent
restaurants serving local food as well as Chinese, German
and French. Just 110 kms from Barcelona and a good motorway
link makes this a very useful holiday destination with easy
access for day trips to the major cities of Tarragona, Barcelona
and Valencia.

Owes
its name to the recently restored 14c Gothic hospital but has
become known for its popular marina and wide unspoilt blue flag
beach. The area has a tranquil atmosphere where the main activities
are golf, swimming, sailing, horse riding and walking and there
are many good restaurants to visit. The town has an interesting
square and little shops.

L'Ametlla

Approx.
20 kms from Miami Platja. This town was originally a fishing
village and retains all its charm and character. In the summer
months it comes alive and is renowned for its fish restaurants,
the local dishes often incorporate rice cooked in a fish stock.
Most of the activity is of an outdoor nature with miles of
footpaths, tennis volleyball, sub aqua and swimming. There
is a large marina and sailing is as much a part of this part
of the coast as fishing and mid afternoon sees the rowing
boats coming in with their fish to auction at the fish market.
Visit the local craft shops and the ceramics museum or hire
bikes and visit the numerous beaches along this 16kms of coastline
which L'Ametlla covers.
